HOLLYWOOD, CA – MAY 03: Actress Rachael Taylor attends a For Your Consideration screening and Q

9. Hellcat / Patsy Walker

Who she is: Patsy Walker has been a comic book character forever. She began as a bubbly teen humor character in the 1940s but didn’t become a superhero in her own right until 30 years later. Following the footsteps of the crime fighter The Cat (who later became Tigra), Patsy Walker got a new wardrobe and joined the Defenders.

Why she deserves a TV show: Patsy Walker’s popularity has a lot to do with her comedic levity. A version of the character appeared in Netflix’s Jessica Jones, as the titular character’s friend, Trish Walker. Since Netflix is expanding its Defenders line-up with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Daredevil and Jessica Jones, there’s no reason Walker can’t have eight episodes of her own to develop her origin story more thoroughly and put her martial arts skills to the test.

Further, Hellcat’s comic backstory includes a relationship with Daimon Hellstrom, the son of Satan. Jessica Jones received a lot of praise for how it handled darker themes — what’s darker than going to hell (literally) or going insane and then committing suicide? That’s Patsy Walker’s life.

Plus, Patsy Walker is really good friends with She-Hulk. Imagine all the green cameos we could be having.

Who could play her: Let Rachael Taylor keep doing her thing.
