2012 Claire Danes in Lanvin

This was another actress having a really good year and dressing to match. 2012 was the year Homeland won Danes everything, starting with the Golden Globes in January and running straight through to the Emmys in September of that year.

Knowing she was comign in heavily favored, Danes was a stand out in yellow surrounded by the sea of bland. One can argue that the blousing of the bodice is not exactly the most attractive of silhouettes (and one would not be wrong.) But considering the very yellow (almost brassy) shade of her hair, the bright lemon zest of the dress was a necessity to make her all over look work. (And hey, when you keep yourself that size as part of your dayjob, you can do a bad silhouette and get away with it.)
