This was a good year for Allison Jenney all around. After The West Wing had ended, none of those involved had really had much success int he awards arena. In fact, the last time Janney had been nominated was for The West Wing back in 2006. But in 2014 she has two nominations: Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for Masters of Sex and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for Mom.

When she arrived for the Primetime Emmys in this velvet number, looking as if she didn’t care what you thought of her age, she still looked damned hot and you were going to notice, she’d already taken home the Guess Actress Award the week before at the Creative Arts Emmy ceremony, and probably assumed that was blessing enough. But then she won for Mom as well. She also won for one of the Best Dressed of the night while she was at it.
