#7: Dandy Mott (AHS: Freak Show)

We’ve seen a looottttt of messed up stuff in five years- the kind of stuff you can hardly describe without cringing or crying or needing to be cradled after. But Dandy Mott is arguably the actual worst person we’ve yet to encounter. And yet, he’s still so incomprehensibly interesting and, as such, he’s super-duper list-worthy.

Dandy is a villain born of a semi-familiar trope, but one that we still somehow see pretty rarely: his victims were once the very people he longed to be amongst. His upper-upper-class lifestyle (we’re talkin’ Kardashian money) bores him, and he feels a kinship with the freaks. But when he finally decides to run away to the circus, he is rejected for being too normal. Dandy’s used to always getting what he wants, or else he breaks like a defective toy. And, boy, does he break.

His murder spree is unprecedented, maniacal, gruesome, unbelievably disturbing, and so, so impossible to look away from. He’s an AHS MVP in this way. And though the freaks definitely wouldn’t agree, getting to witness his unfathomable spiral into total darkness (from far FAR away) made this season all the more entertaining. Getting to watch him ultimately pay for his actions at the hands of the wholly unremorseful freaks? Not too shabby, either.
