3. Austin Scarlett, Season 1

Look around look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now. We have DVRs and like 20 flavors of La Croix, but, in 2005, before Hamilton the musical reignited a love for founding fathers rapping, revolutionary coats, and big, brass buttons, this Austin Scarlett look might have really perplexed people. Well, Prince (RIP) probably was into it. The coat is beautifully tailored and could look cool if it was paired with a very modern piece, like a perfectly tailored cocktail dress, but we can’t get behind looking like part of the chorus for a revival of 1776.

So, while there’s nothing inherently wrong with the fitted pant and coat, the styling makes the models look as though they’re about to give Boston’s revered, if you will, Freedom Trail Tour (For the record, it’s well worth the $20 if you ever go to Boston). Plus, if you really want our opinion (you’re reading this, so you just might) we think that the boot covers don’t do anyone any favors. Just buy some killer boots. Don’t fake it. If you’re in New York, though, you’re free to wear what you want. It’s truly the greatest city in the world. Even if this isn’t the greatest outfit.
