Project Runway’s 10 Best (And Some Worst) Catwalks
Flapper dress made of human hair by Chris March/photo imaxtree
8. Chris March, Season 4
Beautiful genius? Addams’ Family relative? We can’t be too sure. But we do know that the fashion week collection Chris March designed for Project Runway Season 4 was at the very least… interesting. The use of (REAL) human hair as notions was like nothing we had ever seen before or maybe even since and has forever changed the way we think about Britney Spears’ extensions. Like would her hair be better as a dress? Discuss. While March’s way of manipulating human hair by turning the strands into wearable art turned off some of the judges, you can’t deny it is definitely innovative. Regardless, March didn’t even… march (forgive us.) into the finale. He was out in a semi-final walk off against Rami Kashou who, for the record, didn’t use human hair.
Call this New York Fashion Week collection what you want, the dresses were impeccably tailored and the exposure on Project Runway snagged March a deal designing fun Halloween costume hair for Target and, oh yeah, some dresses for Meryl Streep. Totally not even a big deal. (Also, it should be known that Victorian women loved swapping human hair with friends for jewelry projects and we’re like, 110 percent sure that’s the next artesian hipster craze.)
