Project Runway’s 10 Best (And Some Worst) Catwalks

1. Joe Faris, Season 5
With a catwalk full of looks that conjured up images of Madonna’s Don’t Tell Me video and Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Joe Faris managed to bring his leatherwork to the next level in a western-themed New York Fashion Week showing on Project Runway Season 5. Sure. We get it. Some people are into that. While we’re all for a gold leather jacket, we aren’t into theming our outfits so much. Couture or not. We think that little leather jacket would be killer if Faris had managed to pair it with a flowy dress or skinny jean for an uptown date-night badass kind of look. Like maybe how your favorite detective might dress when she isn’t out solving murders and crimes and stuff.
But, unfortunately for us, and for Faris, despite his beautiful leather work, every look in his New York Fashion Week show was an ensemble fit for the range. Or another reboot of Dallas. So while the looks didn’t quite hit the spot for us, we do applaud Joe Faris for getting a gimmick and sticking to it! Talk about building a personal brand. However, we just might let this runway show walk off into the sunset, little pard’.
