Michael Fassbender: Gold Rush

Michael Fassbender, from the X-Men films, Inglorious Bastards, Steve Jobs, and Jane Eyre, is an incredible and emotionally-intense actor who’s won multiple awards. His turn as Mr. Rochester in the 2011 Jane Eyre is something that obviously requires multiple viewings. Yet even when he plays bad guys like Magneto in X-Men, you can’t help but root for his charismatic persona—or ogle that face and body instead of all those other mutants running around. He’s bound to show this intensity and talent again in The Light Between Oceans, a tearjerker which releases this weekend and centers on a couple who raises a baby they find in a boat (and during which filming he met actress Alicia Vikander, whom he’s been dating).

The Gold Rush is an apple that also comes on intense, with a sharp, spicy flavor that mellows with time. With a greenish-yellow skin blushing in red, its coloring is also beautiful and complex, just like the German-Irish Fassbender. The Gold Rush also has a long storing life—which is something we’d expect of Fassbender’s career. With his acting chops and two Academy Award nominations under his belt, he is in no danger of missing out on leading roles in the future.
