Truthfully, it’s not fair to describe Amber Rose as the ex-girlfriend of Kanye West, or the ex-wife of Wiz Khalifa, although that’s probably why she was chosen. Before she dated either of them, she was already modeling and appearing in music videos. Since then she’s made plenty of TV appearances, culminating in her getting her own talk show this summer, done some singing, and been involved in fashion design, and even a little activism. Really, this is a woman who’s done a lot of things. Some of them even win her fans, although none of them necessarily win her a large fanbase. But she likely won’t need that for the first week with Maks as her partner; he’ll have his fans.

Also, she’s likely to build them. Her resume of music videos speaks of somebody who isn’t without dancing ability. Certainly she should be better on the ballroom floor than her ex-boyfriend’s current wife was! Her image speaks of someone who will take Maks’ hard-driving teaching style without taking anything from him she shouldn’t take. Together the two of them can create something remarkable, something people will enjoy watching and want to see more of. Maks should have a good run this season. They might even make it to the finals.
