8.) Hoods and shades for the UV-wary traveler
Thanks to the many chemicals humans release into the atmosphere, the radiation-blocking ozone layer is growing weaker and weaker. This means that ultraviolet radiation is becoming more of an issue. While a little sunlight helps us make Vitamin D, too much can lead to serious problems like sunburns and skin cancer.
If we’re going to have to deal with the consequences, we might as well look good doing it. In fact, we already have some clothing options to deal with the problem, though there’s room for improvement when it comes to aesthetics. Look for sun protective fabrics to be used more often, and for hoods and scarves to become part of your fashion repertoire. Add in some sunglasses and you’re well on your way to looking like a trendsetting extra in a Mad Max movie.
