1.)   The return of the cravat and other old-time contraptions

We’re all familiar with hipster accessories. In fact, we’ve been drowning in a sea of chunky glasses and ironic beards for years now.

Since the trend has been to look back in time for fashion advice, why not really push the envelope? Forget the 1980s; how about the 1880s? We’ve already seen suspenders and bow ties on the rise, so it can’t be much longer until we see a cravat or an ascot on the next fashionable gentleman. Maybe Scooby-Doo’s Fred was onto something after all.

If we’re lucky (or not, depending on your taste) other old accessories might also return. The extra-tight pants popularized by nineteenth-century dandy Beau Brummell might make a comeback. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing the return of elaborate hats for all genders, as they could catch eyes and also cover up bad hair days.
