Arthur Darvill played Rory (Pond) Williams and exited Doctor Who alongside his on-screen wife Karen Gillan in 2012. This, of course, was after his character died at least six times, lived for 2,000 years as a plastic Roman, was teenage friends with his own daughter and got himself accidentally sent back into an impenetrable time loop. (This show is real weird, sometimes.)
His next role was as an occasionally shady vicar in extremely popular mystery series Broadchurch. opposite fellow Who alum David Tennant. It really is a small world after all. At least when it comes to British acting jobs.
Darvill has also found considerable success on the stage. He performed Mephistopheles in Doctor Faustus, Long John Silver in Treasure Island and Guy in both the Broadway and London productions of the musical Once.
Currently, he can be seen as time agent Rip Hunter on the CW’s Legends of Tomorrow, a role which is basically a Time Lord without a TARDIS. Darvill is also returning for the third and final season of Broadchurch, which will air in 2017.
