2. Sansa’s (Second) Wedding Gown (Season 5)
What could top Sansa’s sumptuous gold Lannister wedding gown? Try the wedding gown she wore when she was the most herself. At the event a few people halfheartedly attempted to nickname “The Black Wedding,” Sansa took a page from Margaery’s second wedding.
Sansa married Tyrion in a gown that tied her to House Lannister. Here she wears a gown that ties her to House Stark, despite marrying into House Bolton. The silhouette is that of the Northern woman. She wears white wolf’s fur at the shoulder, like her father and brothers once did. The buttons of her gown are fish, a direct reference to her mother and House Tully. In the night’s dark, lit only by torches in front of the Heart Tree, Sansa floats through the Godswood in the snow. It was one of the few moments of beauty in a dark season.
But her most beautiful moment was followed by her ugliest. Unlike Margaery, who protected by a savvy Grandmother and a well-timed poisoning, Sansa was not saved.
