34. Loras’ Purple Wedding Outfit (Season 4)

Loras Tyrell is a beautiful man. At least he was, before he was arrested and abused by the Faith Militant. He wears a myriad of exquisite brocade doublets, when not in his “pin up armor” (or lounging around in nothing but his birthday suit.) My personal favorite is the gold one here, which he sported at Season 4’s famed Purple Wedding. (It is one of several of the Purple Wedding fashions in this countdown.)

One of the notable things about Loras’ non-armor based outfits is the tendency towards the billowy patterned sleeves. This is based partly on historical fashions, as a peacock as vain as Loras in the Renaissance would have indeed gone for flashy billowing sleeves in a contrasting color from the doublet, to both heighten and complement his outfit. These, with their honeycomb patterning on the biceps, is a stand out. Couple that with the flattering curly haircut, and it’s not hard to see why Sansa would have thought him a beautiful (if not exactly suitable) husband. He may never marry Cersei, but that’s ok, because neither will Jamie. One of them is going to look much better while not doing it. Hint: It’s not Jaime.
