20 Classic Films That Could Be Rebooted with Female Leads

2. Logan’s Run, with Emily Blunt
Blunt is an actress who’s diversified her filmography over the last several years to a thoroughly enjoyable degree. From traditional rom-coms like The Devil Wears Prada to historical dramas such as The Young Victoria, she has a range that allows her to become completely immersed within a role – and the best part is that we buy her as every single character she’s ever played. As Rita Vrataski in Edge of Tomorrow, she proved her presence as a sci-fi actress several times over – and definitely gave co-star Tom Cruise a serious run for his money.
Logan’s Run is one of those science-fiction films that benefits from terrific worldbuilding and a fantastic overall concept but doesn’t have a great history of success. After the 1976 film, there was a short-lived TV series – and since then several people have tried to remake the movie to no avail. Why not give the remake a little bit of a twist and cast Blunt as conflicted Sandman Logan 5? With a slight tweaking of the overall storyline and some updating of the special effects, a Logan’s Run reboot would have all of the potential to be one of the more successful Hollywood reboots around.
