8. Julianne Seguin & Charlie Bilodeau (CAN), Pairs

Since they first teamed up three years ago, Julianne Seguin and Charlie Bilodeau have been making waves wherever they’d competed. They’ve dazzled audiences with their beauty, and scoring high with their technical difficulty. Last year, they made the Grand Prix Finale, and gave two-time and reigning World champions Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford a run for their money at Canadian Nationals. But, sadly, for the second time in their partnership, an injury then ended their season early. It left them unable to capitalize at the Four Continents and World Championships. Given how some of the pairs besides Duhamel and Radford skated at the latter, who knows how high they might have finished.

While they remain underdogs at both their Grand Prix events and Nationals, if they can avoid further injuries, it is far from impossible to them to win. Especially at the latter event; if they continue to develop, they’ll match Duhamel and Radford technically. They could potentially outmatch them artistically. These two teams pushing each other will only make both better still. One wouldn’t expect Seguin and Bilodeau to medal at Worlds, with all the teams contending for the podium. But one wouldn’t be entirely surprised either if they did even that. Either way, they’ll likely enter the Olympic season as contenders for that podium.
