3 Mat’s Raised Venison & Pigeon Pie

Victorian Week was a week of doozies. The Charlotte Russes were so exciting, Paul Hollywood bounced up and down. And though by the end of it, Mat had simply collapsed from the inability to keep up. But before that collapse (spurred on, by all of things, a fondant tennis court), Mat manage to ace the Meat Pie Signature. How? By mistaking this for an episode of Antiques Roadshow.

It was Victorian Week, after all, and what better way than to bring along something from home, that dated back to the appropriate era? So Mat got his hands on some relation’s pie mold from the era, and brought it onto the show to show off and to bake in. It might have been cheating, slightly, but, even though some of the pies were more highly decorated, Mat’s was the perfect picture of what the judges were looking for.
