8 Ian’s Flour Power

Bread Week in the tent was a bit of an outlier on the season, as once again, those who excel in Paul Hollywood’s baking obsession are not always the one who excel at winning the program. Case in point, contestant Paul’s bread lion, which we will talk about later in the countdown. It was also Ian’s second Star Baker win in a row.

Though Ian would falter later down the line, as cakes and pastry turn out to be his weaker points. But for Bread Week, all cylinders were firing. Ian brought ingredients from his garden to bake into his breads. He did creative baking techniques, including baking the flower pot shaped bread in a flower pot. The leaves were baked in a mold he soldered together in his garage. The result was a winning entry, and Ian’s best bake of the season.
