1 Tamal’s Caramel Sticky Toffee Cake
There was only one cake that was more spectacular than Nadiya’s finale cake. It didn’t win him the championship–a terrible showing in the Technical and serious issues in the Signature doomed him there. But this Showstopper was just that: a show stopper.
Tamal based his design on photographs of an abandoned Chiniese fishing village. The images of urban decay, of nature reclaiming the spaces man once occupied, inspired Tamal to make some truly amazing sugar work. The spiderweb of caramel that connected the three cakes was a sight to behold. And the entire concept of “sticky toffee pudding in cake form” is one that makes all of our mouths water, especially when both Paul and Mary agreed: it was amazing.
