2 Nadiya’s My Big Fat British Wedding Cake

Our final two cakes come from this season’s spectacular finale. And it was a spectacular finale. According to both judges, it was the best bakes they’d ever tasted. And though Ian may have come in the three-in-a-row Star Baker favorite, his cake was totally outclassed by both Nadiya and Tamal by miles.

Of the two, Nadiya’s was the slightly less spectacular, but not by much. Her “Big Fat British Wedding Cake” was both an homage to her Bengali heritage and her UK ones. Their traditional wedding had been held in Bangladesh, where they don’t serve cake, but, as Nadiya put it, if she were to marry her husband all over again, here in the UK, this would be there cake. It was a beautiful cake, inside and out, and it won her the title of The Great British Bake Off, 2015.
