13. Quailman

A true ‘90s kid icon, the titular character of Nickelodeon’s (and later Disney’s) Doug can be cosplayed in a pinch. It only takes a white shirt, green vest, khaki shorts, and red sneakers to achieve the look. Of course, the options don’t end there, as Doug Funnie isn’t just Doug Funnie. His alter egos include spy Smash Adams, archaeologist Race Canyon, and—pictured above—superhero Quailman.

One of the most memorable of Doug’s characters, Quailman and his sidekick Quaildog could often be found fighting crimes that mirrored Doug’s real-life challenges. This cosplayer nails the details that separate Doug from his imagined secret identity. There’s a belt around the head, a “Q” on the chest, a red cape, and the classic underwear-over-the-shorts. If you can get your dog to agree to a belt around his own head, you can add your own Quaildog companion to the picture, too. That doesn’t appear to be the case with this particular rendition of the character. But this cosplayer certainly rings the nostalgia bell with the precision of his look and stance.

Follow his lead and then all you’ll need to do is master the Quail Call, and you’re set to make a spot-on example of ‘90s kid entertainment.
