2. Ghostbusters

The controversial reboot of 1984’s Ghostbusters may not have been a box office hit, but the fans have spoken and they’re still loving it. The film turned sexist tropes on their head and kicked them out the door, and left female fans praying for reboots of traditionally masculine classics like Fight Club, Die Hard, Scarface, and more with women taking on the titular roles. (I would watch all of those, by the way; who’s on it?)

Like Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the more inclusive representation of the new Ghostbusters expands cosplay opportunities as well as the Hollywood norm. Although this trio is missing their own Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), their portrayals of Abby Yates, Jillian Holtzmann, and Erin Gilbert are so spot-on that if you squint and tilt your head to the side, you can almost fool yourself into thinking this is an actual picture of Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Kristen Wiig. Their ghostbusting suits and tools are almost movie-quality, and their hairstyles have me believing they were all born specifically to participate in this cosplay. This is their moment, and they knock it out of the park.

If you want to cosplay, but you don’t know how—who you gonna call? These ladies.
