From Batman to Bellatrix: 15 Best Cosplays of 2016

4. Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy
This cosplaying pair takes the doctoral villainesses back to basics. Considering the barrage of male-dominated Marvel and DC films we’ve been inundated with, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy are certainly a sight for sore eyes.
While we’ve had characters like Black Widow, Peggy Carter, and Lois Lane to satisfy our thirst for girl power, they tend to stand alone amidst a sea of men. Doctors Harleen Quinzel and Pamela Isley, meanwhile, have featured in the comics and animated series alike as something of a dynamic duo. Admittedly criminally insane with some homicidal tendencies but, hey, they can pass the Bechdel Test with the best of them, so points for that.
The costumes as we see them here are A+ all on their own. While the recently released Suicide Squad puts a new twist on Harley’s aesthetic, this cosplayer sticks to what we know in Harley’s more traditional jester jumpsuit, complete with face paint and giant hammer (“Your Face Here”). Poison Ivy’s seriously flawless curls, leafy one-piece, and vine accents on her legs are to die for—perhaps literally, if you get on her bad side, And her rather amused expression confesses that while she’s got no mercy for her enemies, she does have a soft spot for Harley. As their friendship and romance are both canon, though, I suppose we all could have assumed this much to be true.
