Harry Potter Midnight Parties Picture Roundup
By Kalistrya
Potterheads shared the joy at midnight parties celebrating the release of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’s script book across the world!
On a big weekend for Harry Potter fans who stayed up late to party like it’s 2007, bookstores and other venues held midnight release parties to celebrate Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts One & Two. Party activities, costumes, and then at the stroke of midnight, distribution to delighted fans – what more could you ask for? Maybe a bit of coffee to stay up even later to read the books immediately.
We’ll start in the UK where Waterstones was keeping things under wraps before the big reveal.
The big countdown! Hooray for Harry!

You might wonder how the turnout was 9 years later, well no need to worry if the midnight release parties were worth the bother…
A very book adoring, sharing Ravenclaw with a terrific handmade house dress.
Elsewhere in Europe, a dabble of Dobby free to hang out at a party over in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Those Dutch really enjoy proper immersive party atmosphere.

Close your eyes to remember this moment of pure wonder and Potter adoration.
And the crowd goes wand wild!
Not just wizards, but dramatically lit wizards!
Total sorting hat joy!
Muggle Walls on the subject of what Harry Potter Means To You were well used. A terrific theme of togetherness in many of the writing snippets is a lovely reminder of good in the world.
Excellent costumes were evident at parties.
Total happiness and fun was to be had at the parties.
So. Cute. Cannot. Breathe. So. Cute.
It’s not just a job, it’s a wizardly passion.
Not every party is without unfortunate incident.
Protect and serve by day, Potterhead by night!
I love the evening delivery by armored truck of books in time for the parties.
Hogwarts Houses represent at Books-A-Million. The costume showdown looks to be between Hufflepuff and Slytherin.
I’m not sure which one is more adorable. No, there is no contest, tiny Luna Lovegood trounces even a Funko Pop! Hagrid.
A creepy, but excellent idea for a game. No worries about the little ones though, I think that bit on the left is a lower down for easy access without stilts.
No party is complete without cake and for Potter parties, there is no other style choice.
Adult drinks to wash down cake at the adult friendly Hypable & WORD Bookstores party.
Mmmmmmmmm butterbeer. The healthy popcorn totally balances out the sugar.
Down under in Adelaide, Australia, the fans are plentiful.
EVERY SECOND WITH THE BOOK IS PRECIOUSSSSSS.
And now for something completely different, in Hong Kong Bookazine had a dawn release party.

Last but not least, yes, we should all appreciate the lengths booksellers and other pro-Potter reading businesses went to encourage the hype and the fun!
