The cast of the new movie Star Trek: Beyond takes an evening off in London to visit a place no one in the series has gone before: the wizarding world.

More from Harry Potter

There are few fandoms that can boast of fifty years of sustained popularity. Harry Potter and Game of Thrones can only boast of 20 years each. Star Wars is rounding on 40. But Star Trek hits the big 5-0 this year with a brand new TV series coming to CBS (well, CBS online anyway) and the third in the rebooted movies opening in theaters in mere days.

The promotional press period for Star Trek: Beyond is just kicking into high gear, but before it takes off for galaxies and timelines yet unexplored, the cast decided to head to a different place that no muggle in their universe (or any timeline) had gone before: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

It wasn’t quite the full cast–Zoe Saldana has yet to join the crew for the press tour, and as we all hear a couple of weeks back, Anton Yelchin passed from a freak accident. But stars Chris Pine, John Cho, Zachary Quinto and Karl Urban were all on hand, and took photographs with the cast.

The official Harry Potter play twitter account went into warp drive to keep up, as the Star trek cast also did solo shots with cast members, including  Noma Dumezweni, Anthony Boyle, Sam Clemmett, Chris Jarman and Jeremy Ang Jones.

Even Miss Noma was star struck!

(To be fair, I would be too.)

But Chris Pine and John Cho weren’t the only ones the cast was going gag over.

He actually looks like he’s swallowing his tongue in this picture.

Simon Pegg was either not on hand, or did not consent to take pictures (Guessing it was the former) but we couldn’t help by notice that he made sure to send out a tweet both showing his support for Dumezweni’s casting, just in case anyone misconstrued his absence, as well as standing up to those who are complaining about his “canon” choices for their own series.

“Tru Dat, Mr. Simon Pegg” responded Dumezweni on Twitter. True that, indeed.
