Holiday Gift Guide for Harry Potter Fans

facebooktwitterreddit

Do you have a Harry Potter super fan in your life? If so, here is a holiday gift guide to make your favorite muggle (or you!) feel like they just drank a vile of Felix Felicis potion on Christmas morning.

It’s the holidays, and it is time to buy all of the people you love in your life presents to make them smile. We go through and list some of the best gifts you can get for the Potterheads in your family that are sure to win you all the points for your House.

Now let’s get the obvious ones out of the way first – books and films.

The Films. Obviously. You can buy the full box set here for $72.

Books: There are some really gorgeous sets available at the moment, like this paperback one from Barnes & Noble  ($55) or this gorgeous hardcover set that comes in a special trunk from Scholastic (this will cost you around $115 though).

If they already have all of the books, why not get them the Hogwarts Library textbook set? This includes Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them (a must read before the movie comes out next year!), Tales of Beedle the Bard, and Quidditch Through the Ages.

There are also other great collectible books you can buy as well, including:

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – The Illustrated Edition, a great collector’s item, including over 100 stunning illustrations by Jim Kay. I saw this in a book store the other day and was seriously impressed.

Harry Potter: Film  Wizardry Hardcover Book, that – according to the official online Harry Potter Shop – allows you to “immerse yourself in the world of the spectacular Harry Potter film series, and learn why Yule Ball ice sculptures never melt, where Galleons, Sickles, and Knuts are really “minted,” how to get a Hippogriff to work with actors, the inspiration behind Hogwarts castle, and why Dementors move the way they do.”

The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, which you can buy on Amazon for $17.

Audiobooks. I listen to these all the time. You can either buy one audiobook (ranging from $30-$45, or the set, currently on sale for a whopping $243) or you can sign your loved one up for a free trial of Audible which now has all Harry Potter books available for listening!

Coloring Books. Not only is there one, but FOUR different (and fancy) coloring books to choose from. You can find these online at The Harry Potter Shop or Amazon.

Games

Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit                    Harry Potter Playing Cards

Harry Potter Monopoly and Clue also exist, however it seems they are no longer being made as the cost for these board games can range up to $300.

Tickets! Now this is highly dependent on location and budget, but there are multiple Harry Potter places you can treat your loved one to. If you’re in the UK you can get tickets to the Warner Brothers Studio Tour in London (which is amazing!) and drink a cup of real butterbeer while you’re there. If you buy soon enough (book a tour for before January 31st), you can even get to see Hogwarts in the Snow.

Alternatively, if you’re near Orlando, there is the Magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter, or if you’re in California, you can go to the Grand Opening of Harry Potter World at Hollywood Studios on April 7th.

WIZARD CHESS!! Available for $49 on Amazon.
