It truly feels like 2024 went on forever yet somehow ended in the blink of an eye. With 2025 looming on the horizon, I've already shared some of my favorite books of the past year.

Since we've already discussed books from 2024, it's time to look ahead and talk about some of the books we're looking forward to in 2025. For the most part, this list is going to include romance books but there are a few non-romance titles on my list as well.

As always, I like to give a disclaimer before any of these posts as this is just my opinion and the books I'm most excited to read this year. If you have ones you'd like to share, you can always reach out on our Twitter/X page or our Facebook page.

Regardless, there are truly so many great books set to be released in 2025 so 10 is just the start of all the books we're looking forward to in 2025.

These 2025 book releases are all on our TBR!

1. The Love Lyric by Kristina Forest (Releasing February 4th)

One of my most anticipated reads of 2025 is easily The Love Lyric by Kristina Forest. In the past two years, the first two books have been featured on my favorites list so I have high hopes for The Love Lyric. This story follows the final Greene sister: Iris as she's getting her HEA again after being widowed as a young wife and mother.

Given who the romance is with, I feel like this one has the potential to be my favorite of the entire series. Either way, any romance published by Kristina Forest in 2025 is going to end up on my TBR.

2. First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison (Releasing Feb. 11)

This next book is one by another author I love and am always hyped for their next release which is First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison. Set in Baltimore, this is a romance between a caller and a radio host which honestly sounds amazing. Considering that I used to live in Baltimore, I always know that BK's stories are going to be full of references to Charm City and have me fall in love with one, if not both of the love interests.

The good news is that Berkley was kind enough to send me an ARC so this one is high on my list of books to get read as soon as 2025 begins.

3. Deep End by Ali Hazelwood (Releasing Feb. 4)

2024 was the year I really embraced Ali Hazelwood's books and can truly call her one of my favorite authors. While I have yet to find that perfect 5-star read from her, I hope that Deep End aka Whet will end up being that. This is a college sports romance between a swimmer and a diver which just sounds so intense and fun. It seems like it's going to have all the delicious tension and angst I loved in Not in Love so I'm excited for this one.

4. This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead (Releasing March 25)

Switching gears, I am incredibly excited about This Book Will Bury Me by Ashley Winstead. This is a thriller following some amateur detectives as they try to solve a crime. Honestly, it sounds like it's going to be intense and dramatic which is what I love about Ashley Winstead's thrillers. She will take you on a ride and by the end, you won't know how you got there but you'll love it.

The good news is that Sourcebooks was kind enough to send me an ARC so this one is definitely on my list to be read before the release date.

5. Rose in Chains by Julie Soto (Releasing July 3)

No way I wasn't going to have a most anticipated list without featuring Julie Soto. Julie Soto has written two of my favorite romances of all time. Now, she's trying her hand at fantasy romance and if there's one author who can make me love an intense fantasy romance, it's her. Plus Julie Soto's writing is just excellent so I'm TOO excited about this. As with the previous two books, I was kindly sent an ARC by the publisher so I'm able to pick this one up early as well.

6. Sweet Obsession by Katee Robert (Releasing April 1)

Not sure if you're sensing a theme here, but these are all authors who ended up on my favorites list for 2024 and so many of them are releasing books in 2025. With that being said, Sweet Obsession is book 8 in KR's Dark Olympus series. I don't want to talk too much about the pairing, but Sourcebooks was kind enough to send me an ARC of this one which I can't wait to pick up. Frankly, I'm here for all the good angst, tension, steam, and plot Katee Robert always delivers in the Dark Olympus series.

7. The Folklore of Forever by Sarah Hogle (Releasing April 8)

Speaking of one of my favorite authors, I have to feature the next book in the Moonville series which is The Folklore of Forever by Sarah Hogle. Aside from the obvious Taylor Swift reference in the title, I was bound to want to pick this one up. It has a gorgeous purple cover, a ghost-hunting romp per the synopsis, and some enemies-to-lovers goodness. Truly, there is nothing more I want from Sarah Hogle and nothing more I want than to have this book sitting next to her other titles on my shelf.

8. Too Old For This by Samantha Downing (Releasing August 12)

When it comes to thrillers, I'm a simple girl as I have a few go-to authors who always keep me guessing and picking up their books. One of those is Samantha Downing and frankly, Too Old For This sounds incredible. This is a thriller following a retired serial killer who is considering coming out of retirement after a pesky journalist tracks her down. This one will no doubt have Samantha Downing's trademark plot twists and plenty of entertaining moments to keep us guessing.

9. Katabasis by R.F. Kuang (Releasing Aug. 26)

The most unlikely of books to end up on my list is Katabasis by R.F. Kuang. Let me start by saying that I've never read an R.F. Kuang book yet this one sounds so good. Given how much hype has been around her previous releases, this one sounds like it's going to be great. Following two rival Ph.D students going to hell to find their professor, this one sounds so interesting and intense, making it the perfect title to help me leap out of my comfort zone.

10. Can't Get Enough by Kennedy Ryan (Releasing May 13)

Last but not least, I have to show love to another one of my favorite authors which is Kennedy Ryan with Can't Get Enough. Hendrix is the last one from the trio of friends to get her love story and honestly, this one seems like it has the potential to be the best of the bunch. Given how amazing Kennedy Ryan's stories are, those are some loaded words.

While I've shared a brief plot for each, I won't be getting into that with Can't Get Enough as I want to be surprised. Either way, this romance is no doubt going to be high on many romance readers' lists so there was no way I wasn't going to include it in my top 10 for 2025.

Before wrapping things up, I wanted to share even more releases I'm excited for in 2025 so if you want your TBR to get even bigger, then be sure to add these to your list as well.

Some other romance books I'm looking forward to are Spiral by Bal Khabra, Left of Forever by Tarah DeWitt, Good Spirits by B.K. Borison, Never Been Shipped by Alicia Thompson, Fan Service by Rosie Danan, and August Lane by Regina Black. Some non-romance books I'm looking forward to are The Crash by Freida McFadden, The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones, Death in the Cards by Mia P. Manansala, and Blob: A Love Story by Maggie Su.
