7 questions we still have after the Young Justice: Outsiders break

It’s been a while since the Young Justice: Outsiders mid-season finale, and we won’t have to wait long before it starts up again. Of course, we still have a few questions.

We’ve been waiting for months for Young Justice: Outsiders to return from its mid-season hiatus. Leaving us on a Judas-Contract-sized cliffhanger, we’ve had a lot to ponder. And we have a few questions we hope the second half of this season will answer.

That’s right: Young Justice: Outsiders is returning on July 2, which actually gives us a reason to look toward to Tuesdays for a change. (Thank you, DC Universe.)

Therefore, it’s timed to get whelmed. If you weren’t pre-whelmed, the trailer for the second half of the season will surely help you get there.

Sure, the teaser doesn’t give us any insight into the second part of Outsiders. However, it did inspire us to refresh our Outsiders fandom. With that, we have a few lingering questions from the mid-season finale that we hope the next 13 episodes will answer.

Will Silas Stone make amends with Victor?

Yeah, we know there are probably more pressing concerns at hand, such as whether or not Victor will learn to control his Fatherbox, as well as how the rest of the season will elaborate on the lore between Motherbox and Fatherbox. However, we just want Silas to at least try to make amends with Vic.

In so many renditions of the Stone family, Silas has been a jerk to Vic and trivialized his needs and desires, so the cliche part of our fandom hopes that Cyborg gets an uplifting familial ending for a change.

How will the Judas Contract actually go down

There are always certain beats to the Judas Contract arc, but over the multiple different comic books, animated series, animated movies, and various other mediums later, the arc is prone to changes. Though the Judas Contract seems to be starting with the Outsiders, this could be the show’s way of prepping us for a Teen Titans-themed season of Young Justice.

After all, the contract doesn’t necessarily need to wrap when this season ends.

Will Terra finally get a chance at a legitimate redemption arc?

Terra was created to pseudo-betray (because she’s never really a good guy when the contract is on the horizon) her superhero friends, and then she dies. It’s her destiny with very few variations throughout the years. Defying her archetypal role, we hope Outsiders will answer our queries on the whole Terra situation by giving her a proper redemption arc in some form.

She’s spent decades being a pawn and dying because of it, so it’s definitely time for a refreshing twist.

Could there still be hope for Wally West fans?

Sure, Garfield’s technological-induced dreamscape also included a meta-advertisement for the then-upcoming Doom Patrol series on DC Universe. However, his subconscious also conjured up a critical vision of Wally West. We can’t help but think this might be the series’ way on prepping us for the return of Wally West because we refuse to believe that he’s dead. He’s clearly just lost in the Speed Force.

Will Halo uncover any more new powers?

We might be missing a few powers in our tally, but we think Halo has at least seven distinct aura abilities. Plus, the power to summon boom tubers whenever and wherever. While most of her powers of comic book origin have made their debut on the series, there are more left.

Will Harper Row join the Outsiders?

We’ve read enough comic issues and watched enough comic book movies and television series to know that a series a cameo from a notable character often isn’t just a convenient Easter egg. So, we just have to see more of Harper Row (i.e. Bluebird), right?

Will there be another season of Young Justice after Outsiders?

The DC Universe streaming service revived Young Justice, and we’re ready for many more seasons after Outsiders. Considering that DC Comics has a host of teams that the series could focus on each episode, there are definitely a plethora of stories to tell.

Naturally, we have a lot of other questions, but also have our priorities. While this season is building a lot more tension beyond the Judas Contract and potentially the return of a few characters, you can’t fault us for narrowing in on those pressing questions.
