Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: One last battle scene in store
Game of Thrones season 8 production has apparently returned to a filming location already used this season and looks to be setting up for another bout.
Warning: In case it wasn’t obvious, we’ll be talking about what we know of Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers and production below.
This seems like the production that never ends, at least when it comes to these last bits of Game of Thrones season 8. At this point, we’re not discounting production just never quite ending to keep fans yearning for those sweet bits of season 8 spoilers.
We say all this because not only is the set at King’s Landing apparently getting a bit of a modification, but it also seems as though production has set up shop back at Magheramorne Quarry, per a photo posted to r/freefolk.
If you’ve been following along with spoilers, that name should sound familiar. Starting in late February with construction and through mid-April, there was activity at the quarry with the big green screen. That included (intentional) fire at the set.
So, the fact that things are happening there now again seems to suggest that the previous filming didn’t get quite what everyone was looking for, or it’s being used for other things entirely. At least, those are the theories that the users over at r/freefolk are coming to. For example, u/cpns18 suggested that it’s Miguel Sapochnik’s episodes (either episode 3 or 5 as far as we and our sister site Winter is Coming know). Another user speculated it’d be for episode 5 or 6; in other words, either Sapochnik’s second episode or the finale of the series itself.
Honestly, we’re inclined to agree that it’s for one of the big episodes. Granted, all of them are probably going to be big just by virtue of being the last episodes ever. The Sapochnik theory rings the most true to us, though, just because of his reputation for those big battle scenes.
We do also know that at least Emilia Clarke is likely still in Northern Ireland. Plus it’s possible that others like Nikolaj Coster-Waldau are as well, since he was spotted last week in Ballycastle. Make of that what you will when it comes to who we might see at Magheramorne.

Of course, it’s also a green screen, which means it could actually be anything at all. What’s your theory, spoiler fans?
