Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, the female-centric animated shorts starring favorites like Rey, Padmé Amidala and Ahsoka Tano, returns next month.

The goal of Star Wars: Forces of Destiny is to highlight all the great female characters found in the Star Wars universe. In addition to Princess Leia‘s lasting legacy as the one who really started it all, many fans find themselves drawn to the selflessness and bravery demonstrated on the big screen by characters like Rogue One‘s Jyn Erso or The Force Awakens‘ Rey. But expanding this into other properties is what makes Star Wars even cooler. Characters like Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano originated in the animated series first and appeared in Forces of Destiny again.

And because of this, it shows a real commitment to creating fully fleshed out female characters that enjoy multi-dimensional arcs (and attention) just like their male counterparts. Since we all know that men aren’t the only ones who watch Star Wars, it’s nice to get a space dedicated to the ladies. (And the same thing would even go for droids, which appear front and center in the “Star Wars Blips” shorts.)

The first batch of episodes Star Wars: Forces of Destiny debuted gave us a few stylish looks at what some of the characters do in their “down time.” Each episode faithfully demonstrated each characters’ compassion and regard for others around them without making it feel like there was too much of an agenda.

When the second waves hits on Oct. 1, expect a lot of this to continue. Once again, it looks like the eight new episodes will focus on many characters we already know, but it would be cool to maybe give attention to some of the lesser-known characters. Though, at the end of the day, the question is really whether or not a lesser-known character can sell a toy or not.

While Star Wars: Force of Destiny will air ahead of Star Wars Rebels season 4, since it’s before The Last Jedi‘s release in December, it would also be cool to see a Rose Tico-centric episode, too.
