Will we finally find out who Savitar is? The title of this week’s The Flash, “I Know Who You Are”, suggests that resolution to the ongoing mystery is imminent. Also, with the season finale four episodes away, we’re running out of time for wheel-spinning.
Thank the Speed Force.
Unfortunately for our heroes, exposing Savitar’s identity is just the first step to defeating him. The official synopsis for “I Know Who You Are” hints at step two. Read it below, via local station WTKR:
"VIBE FACES OFF AGAINST KILLER FROST – Barry (Grant Gustin) and the team meet Tracy Brand (guest star Anne Dudek), a scientist, who may be the key to stopping Savitar. Unfortunately, Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) is also after Tracy so Team Flash must battle their old friend, which proves to be particularly difficult for Cisco (Carlos Valdes). Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and Cecile’s (guest star Danielle Nicolet) relationship takes a big turn."
If you recall from “The Once and Future Flash”, Tracy Brand will invent the device that Barry eventually uses to trap Savitar in the Speed Force for good. In the current timeline, she doesn’t succeed until four years after Iris dies. But having obtained this vital information from the future, Barry can speed up the process. (Why future Barry couldn’t just tell our Barry how to make the trap himself instead of sending him on this quest for a scientist he’s never met is unclear.)
Besides, the episode really hinges on the team’s conflict with Killer Frost, aka Caitlin Snow. The show has been setting up a showdown between Caitlin and Cisco for a while now, but we’re still not emotionally prepared to see the colleagues/friends battle each other. Can our hearts take it?
