Dancing with the Stars Season 24, Episode 2: Watch Online
There may not be a theme on this week’s episode of Dancing with the Stars, but that doesn’t make it any less watchable, does it?
Dancing with the Stars unsurprisingly has a frontrunner this season in the form of Simone Biles, who closed out last week’s show with the highest score of the night. However, someone broke out some golden footwork. We’re talking, of course, about Rashad Jennings’ cha cha to “24K Magic,” which landed him in second place.
Those scores matter this week, since ABC promises the first elimination in the press release for tonight’s episode. But, before someone loses out on their chance for the trophy, we’ll see some dancing. From that same press release, here’s who’s dancing what:
Cha Cha
- David Ross & Lindsay Arnold: “Bust a Move” — Young MC
- Nancy Kerrigan & Artem Chigvintsev: “No Rights No Wrongs” — Jess Glynne
- Normani Kordei & Val Chmerkovskiy: “Give Me Your Love” — Sigala ft. John Newman, Nile Rodgers
- Simone Biles & Sasha Farber: “Burnin’ Up” — Jessie J ft. 2 Chainz
That’s actually a pretty tough bracket there, since all four couples were towards the top of the scoreboard last week. The press release appears to say that Julianne Hough will be around to judge, so we wonder if she’ll comment on reusing “Bust a Move” after she and Apolo Anton Ohno used the song for their freestyle way back when.
Foxtrot
- Erika Jayne & Gleb Savchenko: “Bad Intentions” — Niykee Heaton
- Nick Viall & Peta Murgatroyd: “Love Me Now” — John Legend
This matchup is a bit more even, since both of them had a score of 24 last week. Does anyone think that the choice of “Love Me Now” for Nick after his recent stint on The Bachelor is perhaps a little too on the nose?
Paso Doblé
- Charo & Keo Motsepe: “España Cani” — Charo
- Mr. T & Kym Herjavec: “Eye of the Tiger” — Survivor
Charo’s already breaking out her own song. Hopefully it’ll lead to her having higher scores, and presumably Keo will learn a bit about how Charo’s actually also a guitarist. No, seriously. It’s on her own website and everything.
Jive
- Chris Kattan & Witney Carson: “Hey Ya!” — OutKast
- Heather Morris & Maks Chmerkovskiy: “Grown” — Little Mix
Well, this seems a bit unfair. Heather Morris may not have ballroom experience, but jive requires precise motions, and she was a backup dancer for Beyoncé.
Viennese Waltz
- Rashad Jennings & Emma Slater: “Suffer” — Charlie Puth
- Bonner Bolton & Sharna Burgess: “Unlove You” — Jennifer Nettles
One week, they will have to give Bonner Bolton a non-country song. That week is not this week. We’ll see if Rashad Jennings’ charm extends to a style of dance that’s quite different from last week’s cha cha.
