Will Reba McEntire Return For 'Young Sheldon' Series Finale?

Country star Reba McEntire is just as famous for her acting as her music. Her onscreen credits include the movie Tremors and her selt-titled sitcom Reba.

One of her most recent roles was June Ballard on the CBS comedy Young Sheldon. McEntire made her debut during Season 3 as the hairstylist ex-wife of Craig T. Nelson's character Doug Ballard.

McEntire's role on Young Sheldon reunited her with former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman. It also helped McEntire find love again. Since 2020, she's been dating Rex Linn, who played Principal Tom Petersen.

McEntire's character was a hit with Young Sheldon fans. With the show in its final season, many wonder if June will pop back for an appearance.

Young Sheldon producers would love to have Reba McEntire back for final season

McEntire's recurring role as June lasted from Seasons 3 to 5. It's been two years since her last appearance, but there's a possibility she could return. At least, that's what Young Sheldon producers hope.

With the series in its final season, the showrunners are pulling out the stops to make memorable moments. One person that Young Sheldon executive producer Steve Holland would like to return is McEntire.

In an interview with TVLine, Holland discussed the idea of McEntire reprising her role as June.

"We would love to have her back. She's expressed interest, but she's very busy. She has another [sitcom] pilot that she's shooting...so I just don't know if it's going to work out."

McEntire is currently a judge on Season 25 of the NBC singing competition The Voice. She's also working with former Reba producers on a new sitcom.

Fans will have to wait and see if McEntire pops back up as June on the CBS comedy. The one-hour series finale of Young Sheldon will air on Thursday, May 16th at 8pm.
