The Big Bang Theory fans will see their favorite couple Shamy back onscreen.

Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will reprise their roles as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler for the Young Sheldon series finale. The Big Bang spinoff follows the life of young Sheldon (played by Iain Armitage) growing up in Texas with a chaotic family. The show's seven-season run is scheduled to end with a one-hour finale on Thursday, May 16 on CBS.

Parsons serves as an executive producer and narrator on Young Sheldon. Bialik made voiceover cameos as Amy in two episodes of the series. According to TV Insider, this is the first time the actors will appear onscreen together since The Big Bang Theory finale in May 2019.

Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik have remained close since The Big Bang Theory ended

Bialik joined The Big Bang Theory during Season 3 as Sheldon's girlfriend. The actress was initially only signed for a few episodes, but Amy became a main character after receiving positive feedback from viewers.

Sheldon and Amy quickly became a hit and fans watched them grow individually and as a couple. They also saw pivotal milestones, including the much-anticipated Shamy wedding.

As with all castmates, Parsons and Bialik have become close friends. After The Big Bang Theory ended, the two remained in contact. Parsons even served as co-executive producer on Bialik's Fox sitcom Call Me Kat.

In a 2021 interview with Us Weekly, Bialik explained the benefits of working with Parsons.

"Jim and I had a lot of nice moments together on set. I think one of the things that worked so well for us as actor partners, and maybe as producing partners too, is that we're not overly sentimental as humans, which I think is helpful. It was helpful in our acting and also in the way we kind of processed ending a decade together."

Now the two will be working together again on Young Sheldon as they give fans their first glimpse of Sheldon and Amy in five years.
