After so much time wondering how All American's seventh season would look, fans are now getting a better idea as many cast members have confirmed their exit from the show as a series regular ahead of season seven. Among those leaving include Samantha Logan (Olivia Baker), Cody Christian (Asher Adams), Monét Mazur (Laura Baker), Chelsea Tavares (Patience), and Karimah Westbrook (Grace James).

However, Michael Evans Behling (Jordan Baker), Greta Onieogou (Layla Keating), and Bre-Z (Coop) will be returning as series regulars for season seven.

Due to Daniel Ezra's previously announced departure, the exits of his on-screen wife, Olivia, and on-screen mother, Grace, are not surprising. If anything, viewers have been waiting for Samantha Logan's official announcement of leaving the show as a series regular to take as confirmation for Spencer and Olivia's continued happy ending following their wedding. As for Asher, Patience, and Laura, All American's sixth season offers all three characters an easy explanation as they move forward with the next phases of their lives.

So, what does All American look like without Spencer James at the center? Jordan and Layla were certainly being prepared to take over as the core heart and soul of the show in season six's final episodes, as the duo got married and later were offered the Baker family home. Meanwhile, Coop's background of growing up as Spencer's best friend, as well as her own massive character growth and journey over the years, has helped prepare Coop to help Jordan and Layla carry the load of the show.

Jordan, Layla, and Coop have grown as friends since season one, but without the rest of their Vortex to count on a constant basis, this trio has the chance to explore different aspects of their friendships. For All American viewers who may have loved One Tree Hill, season seven could be viewed similarly to when Chad Michael Murray (Lucas Scott) and Hilarie Burton (Peyton Sawyer) exited the drama, leading to the other fan-favorite couple, Nathan and Haley, played by James Lafferty and Bethany Joy Lenz, stepping up into the center couple role with other long-time series regular and fan-favorite Brooke Davis, portrayed by Sophia Bush, also took on a more focused role.

But just because All American is losing series regulars does not mean they are not gaining new ones. All American's seventh season will feature the arrival of two new characters to Beverly High School, Coach Cassius Jeremy and his son, KJ. Alexis Chikaeze and Antonio J. Bell will also be added as series regulars. They respectively appeared as Amina and Khalil in season six.

Season seven's overall arc will push Jordan, Layla, and Coop's development into adults into the spotlight, as after all they have gone through, and with the constant adults in their lives no longer acting as series regulars, it is up to them to be the primary adults and mentors.

The confirmation of the next generation of teenagers once again focused primarily on a football-centric plot line brings the show full circle and gives the new iteration of characters the opportunity to follow storylines that All American had not told with its original group of characters.
