Elizabeth Banks to star in and produce Flintstones series reboot
Elizabeth Banks is one of the latest multi-hyphenates to join the TV reboot trend. The Hunger Games star is putting a new spin on a famous animated classic. Banks will produce and star in an upcoming revival of the 1960s cartoon The Flintstones.

Now, Banks is expected to put a new twist on the beloved animated pre-historic classic.
Elizabeth Banks reveals details of the upcoming Flintstones reboot
The upcoming Flintstones reboot titled Bedrock has been a project of Banks for quite some time. In 2021, Banks teamed with FOX to get the revival off the ground.
“We’re still in development,” Banks told TV Line. The actress is excited about the series, in which she’ll voice the lovable baby of the Flintstones, Pebbles.
The reboot will take place in the Bronze Age with a now-adult Pebbles embarking on her own life, while her father Fred contemplates retirement. Aside from Banks, the series features an all-star voice cast including Stephen Root as the Flintstone patriarch and Amy Sedaris as Wilma.
Comedian Nicole Byer will voice Betty Rubble, while Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Joe Lo Truglio will voice Barney alongside Manny Jacinto as their son, Bamm-Bamm.
While the original series was aimed at children, Bedrock can be considered an adult animated sitcom; But Banks promises it’s a show both adults and kids can watch.
"“Oh, I think we still want it to be for co-viewing (by parents and their kids). It will have adults themes like all the greats – just like The Simpsons or South Park – but family-ish friendly I mean, I let my kids watch South Park.”"
With the project is still in development, fans will have to wait and see if the Flintstones reboot lives up to the hype.
