Here is how you will soon be able to play The Sims 4 at no cost
The Sims 4 will be free to play starting October 18 – sorta.
If you’re a millennial or were born any time before that, you have probably come across The Sims. The life simulation video game was first released on February 4, 2000, and has released various chapters and expansion packs since then. The original game was a sandbox game where the purpose was for users to create a virtual reality. Since then, every new release has advanced with new timelines, features, and 3D visualization.
On May 2013, The Sims 4 was released with a new timeline from the game’s previous installments and twelve expansion packs. Players on Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X however, will be able to download the game for free starting on Oct. 18. If you have already purchased the game, you will research the Desert Lux Kit, an expansion pack that adds furniture items and new natural landscapes, for free.
This means that after October 18, you will be able to play the fourth installment of the franchise, The Sims 4, for free without any of the expansion packs. If you find yourself getting addicted to the game and wanting more, that is where the expansion packs will come into use.
Here are the expansion packs that are available for purchase:
- Get to Work
- Get Together
- City Living
- Cats & Dogs
- Seasons
- Get Famous
- Island Living
- Discover University
- Eco Lifestyle
- Snowy Escape
- Cottage Living
- High School Years
EA, the publisher of the game, says that The Sims “team is more dedicated than ever to developing new and meaningful experiences for players and will continue to develop and release packs, kits, and Sims delivery express drops into the foreseeable future.”
Could more features of the game become available for users at no cost? No new information has been released, but for The Sims 4 to be available in the near future at no cost is a big plus for gamers, fans, and new users alike.
Do you have memories of the game? Will you be playing? Sound off below! We’d love to hear from you.
