Breaking down the new season 31 cast of Dancing with the Stars

Dancing with the Stars is back on September 12 and if you’re looking for a reason to watch it, check this out.

Even though many fans were saddened to hear that the show was transitioning to Disney+, with it being the first reality show on the platform, ABC is looking to make up for it in big ways.

Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough are back on the judges’ panel and Tyra Banks, who also had a rocky start to the beginning of her hosting duties, will be joined by season 19 contestant Alfonso Ribeiro as co-host. And Mark Ballas and Louis van Amstel? The two pro dancers whose tenure on the show made them fan favorites are coming back to compete!

Who are the celebrities on this season of Dancing with the Stars?

The first set of contestants who were announced was the mother-daughter duo of Charli D’Amelio and Heidi D’Amelio. Charli is one of the highest performing entertainers on TikTok and along with her mother Heidi, is known for the Hulu reality show, The D’Amelio Show. Charli is paired with Mark Ballas while Heidi is paired with fellow reality star (Total Bellas) and pro dancer, Mark Ballas.

Keeping with the reality show theme, Vinny Guadagnino, known for his time on Jersey Shore and the spinoff The Show with Vinny, is also onboard. He is paired with pro dancer Koko Iwasaki. Wayne Brady, known for his comedy and hosting duties at Let’s Make A Deal, will be paired with Witney Carson. Carson won the mirrorball with new co-host Alfonso Rebeiro. The dancer is also an Emmy-nominated choreographer.  Teresa Giudice, one of the more known housewives from The Real Housewives franchise, is set to compete with partner Pasha Pashkov. Pasha is one of the newest professional dancers, having joined the show during season 28. Gabby Windey is known for appearing on season 26 of The Bachelor and as the co-star of season 19 of The Bachelorette alongside Rachel Recchi. She is paired with professional dancer with partner Val Chmerkovskiy. Good Morning America contributor and WABC-TV New York’s weather anchor Sam Champion is also a part of the cast, being paired with Cheryl Burke. This will be Cheryl’s 25th season.

Additional celebrity contestants include tv star Trevor Donovan with partner Emma Slater, country star Jessie James Decker with partner Alan Bersten, drag queen superstar Shangela with partner Gleb Savchenko, and Platinum recording artist Jordin Sparks with partner Brandon Armstrong.

Other sta to take note of include Charlie’s Angels star, Cheryl Ladd, with partner Louis Van Amstel, Sex and the City star with partner Peta Murgatroyd, CODA actor Daniel Durant with partner Britt Stewart, actress Selma Blair with partner Sasha Farber, and fitness model Joseph Baena, paired with partner Daniella Karagach.
