Everyone has a show they love to watch or one that’s on their watchlist. For a lot of us, that show is the Golden Girls.

Despite the show premiering back in 1985, the Golden Girls remains one of the most beloved TV shows of all time. Of course, a large part of that was because of the stellar cast including Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty, Betty White, and Rue McClanahan. Sadly, all of those women are no longer with us.

Even so, the show manages to live on especially in the hearts of its fans. Thus far in 2022, it really feels like the series is making a comeback. As weird as it might sound, now might be the perfect time to either watch the series or re-watch it.

For those of us who have watched and love the series, it’s the ultimate comfort show and for those who haven’t watched, you’re in for a real treat.

The Golden Girls are surprisingly making a comeback in 2022.

Even though the Golden Girls premiered over 30 years ago, the show is still being talked about within the pop culture realm. Recently, the show was given a “futuristic” makeover by Mike Hollingsworth who reimagined the show as a cartoon. While the show has more of a retro feel like the JetsonsGolden Girls 3033 looks and sounds amazing as evidenced by the clip below.

In an interview with IndieWire, Hollingsworth talked about how he wants to get the show made into an actual series, “My dream for this is to be on Disney+ or Hulu…The show that I’m pitching could just be the beginning of the whole Golden Girls-a-verse — like the Marvel Universe, but with ‘The Golden Girls.” The five-minute clip he put together not only looks awesome but pays homage to a series we all love.

While he kept all of the humor and incredible moments from the series, he reimagined it in a unique way. At this point, it’s unclear if the show will make it to series but even if it doesn’t, that clip was a delight and the perfect treat for any type of fan.

If you needed another reason to watch or re-watch though, the Golden Girls pop-up in LA is starting on July 30, 2022. Even though we’ve already covered some of it, the menu for the pop-up has been unveiled and it sounds absolutely delicious. Whether you’re craving some lasagna, a sandwich, drinks, or cheesecake, the pop-up has you covered.

No matter what you decide to do, you really can’t go wrong with the Golden Girls. The show has been streaming on Hulu for years and it’s always nice to go back and watch a few episodes. Of course with Golden Girls Day coming up on July 30th, it’s nice to get caught up.
