Cultures loves honoring girl power, and Billboard does the same through its “Billboard Women in Music Awards”. The show takes place at Hollywood Park’s YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles on March 2. The event was held virtually in 2020 and there was no event in 2021. Fans are now able to purchase tickets through the American Express Presale till Thursday, February 3 at 10:00 pm PT.  Ticket sales will open for their general public on Friday, February 4 at 10:00 am PT/1:00 pm ET through  billboardwomeninmusic.com. Details on how to watch the event live will be announced soon. Here is all you need to know about the performers and honorees.

Getting ready for Billboard’s Women in Music Awards

With the live show this year, opportunities will be greater than before! All the award recipients will take the stage to receive their awards and perform.  With so many award shows and concerts being canceled, it is great to see that an event honoring women is taken place when the world is still in the middle of such a crisis.

Karol G, a reggaeton artist who has risen in the Latin scene by transcending into the pop music scene in the American pop space will be receiving the Rulebreaker Award. Saweetie, who has received attention as of recent for songs like “Best Friend” and “Tap In”, will receive the Game Changer Award. Singer American Walker will receive the Chartbreaker Award. The R&B star has broken the record for the biggest debut on the US R&B albums charts since Lemonade by Beyonce.  Sloppy Jane singer Phoebe Bridges will receive the Trailblazer Award. Gabby Barrett, who previously competed on American Idol, will receive the Rising Star Award and Bonnie Rait will receive the Icon Award.

With so much girl power under one roof, we can’t wait for the show!
