If you grew up with Nickelodeon in the 2000s, Drake and Josh was a staple in your household. It was pretty much universally loved by kids, tweens, teens, and even some parents. The series ended after four seasons in 2007. Like many kid’s series, the show did not get a proper series finale until the 2008 TV movie Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh that is.

Many fans of the series consider the film the proper ending the series deserved. While others to this day clamor for a proper goodbye from their favorite step-brothers. I think the movie served as a great ending to the hit series and answered any remaining questions viewers had, and the ending of the film was pure perfection.

The plot of the movie

Brothers Drake Parker (Drake Bell) and Josh Nickles (Josh Peck) get into a situation where they must give Mary Alice (Bailee Madison) and her family the best Christmas ever or the duo will go to jail. The movie is a great mix of nostalgia and family holiday cheer. Even kids who have never seen the series or the movie before are bound to love the film, this is indeed a great movie to watch alone to bring back childhood memories or watch as a family to introduce the film to a new generation.

Where to watch Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh

The movie will air on Teen Nick on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If you do not want to wait for the film, it can be purchased via Amazon Prime and Vudu for $3.99 on each platform.

Here is a behind the scenes look:

Favorite Quote from the film

"“I bruise like a summer peach” Josh Nickles"

If you watched this movie when it premiered in 2008 a re-watch brings back some good nostalgic vibes. If you have never seen the film before, it is worth checking out for some family-friendly laughs.
