Harry Potter and the HBO Max Reunion Special
HBO Max is at it again! After successfully bringing the cast of Friends together for a reunion special, the streaming service is once again working its magic on the wizarding franchise, Harry Potter.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone initially premiered on November 14, 2001, and twenty years later, the franchise of novels and movies remains a worldwide phenomenon.
The HBO Max reunion special will reunite the franchise leads Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, and many other prominent actors and actresses from the series. The special will also include Chris Columbus, the director of the first two Harry Potter movies.
Fans did get a glimpse of future counterparts of the franchise’s characters when the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child came out. The play focused on Harry and Draco’s children, Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy, in a time travel adventure to fix the past.
For years, this franchise has succeeded in multiple mediums, to such a degree that fans have latched onto it and created their adventures based on the original stories.
The wizarding world and Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry became special places for fans as they excitedly immersed themselves in the fictional universe of wizards, magical creatures, and Quidditch.
Harry Potter has left a massive mark on the world, with people from all over the globe finding themselves attached to the various characters and creatures that roam the Hogwarts corridors, Diagon Alley, or Hogsmeade.
Something that affects people in such a way for as long as it has is rare and iconic, suggesting the wizarding world will be remembered for a long time.
Whether it be Harry himself that became the reason to continue the series, his best friends Ron and Hermione, the exciting supporting characters, or simply the messages of friendship and love that act as the franchise’s backbone, there was always something to care about in the wizarding world.
The HBO Max special, Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, will premiere on January 1, 2022.
