Nancy Drew is still trying to solve the frozen heart murders happening in Horseshoe Bay, but at the same time, she also has some family drama to deal with as well. And in the second episode of the season, we saw not only the murder investigation in full effect, but also Nancy having to deal with both of her fathers doing what they can to be a part of her life.

When it comes to Carson Drew, we have a man who raised this child as his own. Nancy Drew may not be his biological child, but she is definitely the child of his heart. She is his daughter in all the ways that matter, but after the fallout from not being honest with Nancy about her heritage, there is still a bit of tension between these two.

And then we have Ryan Hudson. Ryan is Nancy’s biological child. A daughter that he only recently learned existed, and also someone that he has had issues with in the past before they learned of their connection. So when it comes to a relationship with these two, things are still rather new.

Now take those two relationships and bring them together. After all, Ryan has moved in with Carson and Nancy. He wants to be a father, but he doesn’t know how to be a father. And Carson is a father, but he is also trying to be open to new relationship structures.

Nancy Drew is exploring the relationship between fathers and daughters

With all three of these people under one roof, we are seeing the struggles and we are seeing the hope of two men trying to remain a part of their daughter’s life. And for Nancy, it is about finding a way to be more honest and open with both of these men.

While Nancy clearly knows that she can get one over on Ryan, Carson is struggling to cut the apron strings (if you will) and let her do what she needs to do as the town’s “girl detective.” At this point, the season is setting us up to not only solve murders and supernatural mysteries, but they are also working on diving into the relationships that give Nancy Drew her strength and focus.

Next. Roswell ends season 3 by setting the stage for a love triangle featuring Kyle Valenti. dark
