What is Halloween without The Simpsons?  The acclaimed Treehouse of Horror series will be having its 32nd annual celebration on October 10th. What is different about it this year is that it will have five segments instead of the traditional three.

In this year’s installment, the pop culture spoofs and references will continue to raise hairs and a few laughs.  For one segment titled Dead Ringer, (a spin on TikTok and The Ring franchise) the kids at Springfield Elementary watch a TikTok video that murders and it is up to Lisa to stop the app from killing again.

Another segment will be the retelling of Edgar Allan Poe’s The TellTale Heart, redone as The Telltale Bart as the children’s book and Poetic Interlude as the title.  In this Edgar Gorey-inspired artistic piece, Bart does his usual display of mischief with each act more devious than the last.  This will be the second Edgar Allan Poe retelling in the Treehouse of Horror franchise, with the first being The Raven in the first one back in 1990.

Other parodies include the South Korean film, Parasite (This Side of Parasite), a twisted and sadder projection of Disney’s Bambi, and the 80’s horror flick, Nightmare of Elm Street (Nightmare On Elm Tree)  where the trees in Springfield take revenge on the citizens.

And if the episode doesn’t sound morbid enough, just take a look at the official poster first released by The Simpsons fandom site.

The Simpsons family is a bit freaked out by the pile. Is that Milhouse as a ghost? Lisa being near the front and center of everything is all that we need. Lastly, it is not Treehouse of Horror if it didn’t line up a guest voice star.  NBA legend Tree Rollins will be making an appearance.  Maybe as one of the trees as a take on his name.

Next. The Simpsons to debut Star Wars-themed short for Star Wars Day. dark

You can rewatch past episodes of Treehouse of Horror on Disney+ and during Freeform’s 31 Nights of Halloween.
