We have an official poster for the upcoming Netflix horror series, Midnight Mass, from the creative mind behind The Haunting anthology as well.

If you have watched any of Mike Flanagan’s work (as in The Haunting of Hill House or The Haunting of Bly Manor), then you know that he can be a master of horror, thrills, and chills. But you’ll also recognize a number of familiar faces. And in the new poster for Midnight Mass posted to Twitter, we definitely see plenty of faces we have seen before.

This may be a new horror series/show, but for those of us who have been missing The Haunting anthology, at least we get to see some familiar faces.

According to Flanagan, the full trailer for this new Netflix series is set to premiere in one week (which means Sept. 9), which is good because we need to know what to expect. We have seen a teaser, but just one and it didn’t give us nearly enough information. But, we also have this new poster to dive deep into.

New poster for Midnight Mass gives us a burning church and fear

While the tag line for the new Midnight Mass poster reads “Be Not Afraid,” there is no doubt that many of the people shown on this poster are in fact dealing with fear. The church is on fire and the priest is wearing a facial expression that seems devoid of any real emotion. Guns are in play and it certainly seems like there are shadows and spirits that haunt this island.

Midnight Mass may have a modern-day setting, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this poster is eerily reminiscent of the concept of the Salem Witch Trials and the idea of horror at the hands of our neighbors.

We can’t wait to check out the new trailer for Midnight Mass when it drops, but for now, at least we have this poster to scrutinize.
