American Horror Story fans already know that when it comes to the characters of Murder House, they are iconic. And that includes Dylan McDermott’s Ben Harmon.

While AHS has long been an anthology series telling different stories every season, over time we have watched as the series has slowly connected each of the seasons in some small way. And that includes giving us more of McDermott’s Ben on multiple occasions.

After his latest appearance in the AHS spinoff series, American Horror Stories, there have been some questions cast as to whether or not the Murder House even exists within the American Horror Story world anymore. And if it no longer exists, what happened to those ghosts?

This is where the latest Screen Rant report comes into play. It seems that even McDermott isn’t clearing up any confusion about that American Horror Stories Season 1 finale. But, that’s okay, because he also teases us with the idea that this may not be the last we see of Ben Harmon, his Murder House character.

Dylan McDermott says his Murder House character could return in future AHS stories

According to McDermott, “I think we’re going to see Ben forever. I think Ben will always be caught in this endless loop. And that’s the thing with the ending. Is it a video game? Is it real life?”

And even if the house did burn down, do we really think that Ben Harmon was given a chance to escape the endless loop that is his afterlife? I don’t know. He has done some bad things of his own and that could keep him trapped here on this plane.

Whatever the ending of American Horror Stories means for the Murder House and its characters, we are here for any chance we get to see more of Dylan McDermott on our screens as Ben Harmon. But, really we just like him in any role he takes on in the AHS universe, including as a killer in AHS: 1984.

We don’t know what the future holds for the Murder House or Ben Harmon, but hopefully, McDermott is right and his character will be back.
