Don’t get me wrong, a lot happened in the Nancy Drew episode, “The Scourge of the Forgotten Rune.” Not only did Nancy confront her grandmother, but she actually took all of her memories for a time too. Nick was accused of murder. And let’s not forget that we actually saw Nancy, Carson, and Ryan getting along and basically working together.

Then there was the ancient god who not only killed a man outside the historical society but who was chasing after Nancy and her friends. Honestly, the memory wiping was a fascinating aspect of this episode, and I wish they had shown us more of the Drew Crew frantically trying to stop a monster.

However, the character that really stood out for us during this episode of Nancy Drew had to be Ace. Not only did we actually get to see him interacting with his parents (which we always love because this is our chance to see sign language on our screens), but we also got to see how he has been dealing with the mystery of the long-lost brother.

And it is safe to say that Ace is not doing well with the whole thing. Not only is he clearly upset by the knowledge that he likely has a secret brother, but the fact that said brother left him a wooden box (made by his dad) and a picture of his dad when he was younger without any other clues or a note is definitely not going over well.

Who is Ace’s brother on Nancy Drew?

As he seemed to get angrier and angrier over the course of the episode, it was clear that Ace is unhappy with the fact that there is more to his father’s story than he knew before. And sure, he could have asked Nancy Drew for some help in learning the truth, but we also get why he didn’t.

So when we get to the very end of the episode and learn who Ace’s brother is, we were both shocked and confused.

Not only did they just slip this long-lost brother right into the mix without us realizing it (can we rewind and figure out when exactly they decided they needed an actual cook/chef at the restaurant), but they also made sure that Ace was working with his brother almost since we learned he had one. And that is actually impressive.

I never would have picked the new chef as being Ace’s brother, but it works.

The question now becomes, what does he want. And why is he showing up now? I am not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing that he has crashed into Ace’s life. But the fact that he is asking for help probably means that it is not a good thing.
