Billie Eilish swept up quite a few honors during the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards last year, so it comes as no surprise that the 19-year-old singer-songwriter was recognized again during this year’s ceremony. For the second time in two years, Eilish won the Grammy for Record of the Year, receiving the honor for “Everything I Ever Wanted.”

This makes her the first female musician to bring home the trophy in this category two years in a row, keeping with the 2021 ceremony’s of making history. Taylor Swift also became the first woman to win Album of the Year three times, while Beyoncé became the singer with the most Grammy wins ever.

During her acceptance speech for the award, however, Eilish pointed to another artist and nominee as deserving the Record of the Year win: Megan Thee Stallion.

"“This is really embarrassing for me. Megan, girl. I was going to write a speech about how much you deserve this, but then I was like, there’s no way they’re going to choose me. I was like, it’s hers! You deserve this. You had a year that I think is untoppable. You’re a queen. I want to cry thinking about how much I love you. You’re so beautiful. You’re so talented. You deserve everything in the world. I think about you constantly. I root for you always. You deserve it, honestly. Genuinely, this goes to her. Can we just cheer for Megan Thee Stallion, please?”"

Eilish went on to thank the Academy and her team before stepping off the stage for the final time last night. She and her brother, FINNEAS, also took home the gold for Best Song Written for Visual Media with “No Time to Die.”

At this rate, it seems Eilish is going to become a regular winner at the Grammys each year — at least, if she keeps making music at the rate she’s been.
