The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards may have snuck up on us last night, but there was lots of history made at the award ceremony — from Megan Thee Stallion becoming the first female rapper to take home Best New Artist to Taylor Swift becoming the first woman to win Best Album three times. And although we weren’t blessed with a Beyoncé performance, Queen B also made history during this year’s ceremony: She’s officially the singer with the most Grammy wins. Ever.

During the 2021 Grammys, Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage” won two awards, one for Best Rap Song and one for Best Rap Performance. The record-breaking win for the star, however, came when she won Best R&B Performance for her song “Black Parade.” This marked Beyoncé’s 28th Grammy Award, pushing her past Alison Krauss, who previously held the record for the singer with the most Grammys.

“I am so honored. I am so excited,” Beyoncé said, stepping up to the podium to accept her trophy. She went on to talk about the role of a musician and how she’s tried to embrace that after a particularly difficult year:

"“As an artist, I believe it’s my job — and all of our jobs — to reflect the times. And it’s been such a difficult time. So, I wanted to uplift and encourage all of the beautiful Black queens and kings who continue to inspire me and inspire the whole world.”"

Even after 28 Grammys, Beyoncé seemed awestruck by her record, saying, “I can’t believe this happened. This is such a magical night.”

She also congratulated her daughter, Blue Ivy Cater, who won her first-ever Grammy award at this year’s ceremony. Blue Ivy took home a trophy for Best Music Video for “Brown Skin Girl.” This makes Blue Ivy the youngest artist to snag a Grammy award — so, needless to say, celebrations were probably an order in their household last night.
