With Disney Magical Express ending, how will Disney guests adapt to the change?

For anyone traveling on Orlando’s highways, the Disney Magical Express is a common site. The iconic bus with Disney characters on the side often brought smiles to the even grumpy local commuter. Whether the bus was coming from or going to the Orlando International Airport, everyone knew that the bus contained many magical memories.

In a recent announcement, Disney shared that the Disney Magical Express will be ending as of January 2022. While many Disney fans are quite upset about this Disney perk ending, the change seems to reflect the many changes to travel. Although the Disney bus option was convenient, some people might prefer a different option.

Even though the Disney Magical Express will fade into memory, other Disney transportation options are available. The Disney Minnie Cars, available via Lyft, have become a staple around the Disney property. Many people enjoy the colorful, themed cars as their preferred mode of transportation. It is quick and convenient, which is often a priority for busy families during the vacations.

While many people lament the free transportation going away, it seems to reflect a bigger change in the travel industry. Many people would prefer to avoid traveling on a crowded bus. Even though there is cost savings, some people might prefer a more personalized option.

Although not required, some travelers might appreciate the idea of having other transportation options. For local Orlando businesses, it might even give them a boost. For guests who choose to rent a car, they could possibly explore local restaurants and business outside of Disney properties. Sometimes there can be other magical moments outside the shadow of Cinderella’s castle.

As Disney fans digest this most recent change, there are other bright spots to bring smiles. In addition to the Park Hopper option returning as of January 2021, another Disney resort benefit is returning, too.

To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World, the early magic hours will return later in 2021. Although an exact date has not been announced, Disney Hotels and Disney partner hotels will have the opportunity to enter Disney Parks 30 minutes prior to other guests. While this option had been previously been offered, it was removed as theme parks reopened last year.

2021 looks to be a better year for Disney Parks. From the big birthday celebration to more guest capacity to even new rides opening, there are many reasons to visit Disney Parks in 2021. Magical moments await for anyone who is ready to dream big.
